  14.    DESCRIPTION
  15.      EGSShow is a viewing program for GIF and JPEG files on the EGS window
  16.      system. This program is able to read the JPEG format as well as the GIF
  17.      formats GIF87a, GIF89a and all future GIF files compatible with both of
  18.      the above. The format of the file is detected automatically.

  20.      The display window's open size is determined by the initial GIF or JPEG
  21.      file and the maximum possible size on the EGS default screen. The picture
  22.      itself is displayed in a scrolling gadget that lets you select the part
  23.      you want to see.

  25.      While reading the files, some status information about the picture is
  26.      printed onto stdout.

  28.      EGSShow needs a lot of memory for bigger pictures ( > 640 x 480) and EGS
  29.      version 6 or higher.

  31.    SHELL OPTIONS

  34.           The GIF or JPEG file to read at startup. If no file is initially
  35.           specified, no picture is displayed first.

  37.    WORKBENCH
  38.      EGSShow can also be started from the workbench. To initially display a
  39.      file, first click on the picture icon and double-click the EGSShow icon
  40.      while simultaneously pressing the shift key.

  42.    MENUS
  43.      EGSShow has only one menu named "Project" which contains the following
  44.      items:

  46.      Open
  47.           Opens file requester to display another picture.
  48.  
  49.      About
  50.           Displays copyright info.
  51.  
  52.      Quit
  53.           Quits the program.

  55.    CREDITS
  56.      This software uses JPEG code from The Independant JPEG Group Version 4 and
  57.      the GIF decoder written by Steven A. Bennett.
